Have a good Christmas!

Jesus is Better than Santa
Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited
JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see Santa
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.
Santa's little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts and repairs broken homes.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
Santa is a myth
But Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life
While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
It's obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.

Poor George Bush!

Looks like nobody's gonna forget the incident of an Iraqi journalist hurling his shoes at President Bush very soon. In case you haven't heard, it happened during a press conference in Iraq, where Bush was on a farewell visit. I must say Bush handled it pretty well though, appearing more amused than angry.

Look at what techies have come up with to give people their own chance to throw a shoe at Bush! These people really have nothing to do!

Internships & Other Overseas Experiences

Haven't posted anything for some time...have been rather tired chasing 4 year-olds ha (yes, I've gone from chasing primary school kids to the even younger ones!). They are really cute (at times...) but I've realised I don't quite have the patience with young children :P

Anyway, whenever I surf the web trying to look for job opportunities abroad, I realise there are many things I could have done as an undergraduate, or a new grad. Now that I'm seriously overaged, nobody wants to give me internships or hire me for such projects anymore. So if any of you are interested, here are some links. Ha, am trying to live vicariously through all of you...do let me know if you go on any of these :)

AIESEC - I'm sure you'll hear about this in uni, they are a huge organisation. I would have taken up their internship if I hadn't gone for my exchange programme. Looking back, I wished I had still gone...a study exchange programme is quite different from a job internship

Speedwing - for those with more energy...'cos they offer summer jobs such as those in amusement parks as well as au pairs (i.e. nannies). This company is rather expensive but no harm going for their talks to just have a look

iHipo - I actually found this on facebook! haha, looks like facebook can be pretty useful too! They even have internships in Singapore in case you are looking for temporary work with better satisfaction.

Singapore International Foundation - if you've been on OSLE trips, this organisation would be pretty familiar. They are constantly looking for volunteers and have pretty interesting and meaningful short/long-term projects. Also, for those going on exchange programmes, go to their Singaporeans Overseas link to find a Singaporean society in the country you'll be going to.

There'll probably be many more exciting opportunities advertised in your schools so do look out for all these...the YIH noticeboard used to be my favourite place 'cos they had many companies advertising interesting summer jobs/internships and other opportunities!
