How long has it been since you read a book that isn't a textbook?? (Harry Potter not counted!)

In case you are bored over the holidays and want some suggestions for 'light' reading, here are some of my personal favourites...1) Chronicles of Narnia: most of you should have watched the movie by now. But I think the book is better
2) Uncle Tom's Cabin: a classic about discrimination against
Blacks in America. We'll be discussing discrimination in J2 so will be good prep for the topic3) To Kill A Mockingbird: ditto Uncle Tom's cabin
4) Sophie's World: Philosophy 101 written in story form
5) A Child Called It: true story of an abused boy

6) Fast Food Nation: the predecessor of Super Size Me. Some pp didn't dare to eat fast food after reading it so brace
yourself....7) Tuesdays with Morrie: was pretty touched by this book when I read it
8) Animal Farm / 1984: 'Big
Brother's watching!' Find out what we mean when we talk about an 'Orwellian world'
